Two deaths at HMP Norwich

DEATH 1

A Prison Service spokesperson said:

“HMP Norwich prisoner Alan Wills (dob 5/10/1927) was found unresponsive in his cell at 3.55am on Sunday 31 January.

“Healthcare staff immediately attended but he was pronounced dead later that morning

“As with all deaths in custody, there will be an investigation by the independent Prisons & Probation Ombudsman.”

DEATH 2

A Prison Service spokesperson said:

“HMP Norwich prisoner Roger Giles (dob 15/08/30) was found unresponsive in his cell at 6.45pm on Sunday 31 January.

“Healthcare staff immediately attended, but he was pronounced dead later that evening.

“As with all deaths in custody, there will be an investigation by the independent Prisons & Probation Ombudsman.”
